Why Rent a Motor-home in New Zealand?
If youve already read our newest article about Why You Should Rent a Car Abroad you know that we’re fans of self drive holidays. We’re thrilled about the prospect of taking all the comforts of home along with us while having the freedom to truly move at our own pace. Here are some of the reasons why:
- Scheduling: As with renting a car, a motor-home allows you to travel at your own pace and make as many detours and diversions and you want. In addition to being able to meander during the day, renting a motor home means you always have a place to spend the night wherever you find yourself at the end of the day.
- Flexibility: In New Zealand motor-home travel has become a major part of the vacation culture. Because of this, the whole country already has the necessary infrastructure for Motor-home travel. Even the smallest towns likely have a holiday park where you can spend the night and charge up your motor-homes batteries.
- Freedom Camping: Across New Zealand there are hundreds of “Freedom Camping” areas. These areas range from simple parking lots adjacent to the road to purpose built campsites. Freedom Camping allows increased flexibility and the chance to camp in some of New Zealand’s most beautiful places.
- Affordability: There are a huge range of affordable motor-home rentals available in New Zealand (we’ll discuss them in another post). Event the higher end of the offerings, are relatively affordable when you consider that it combines your travel and accommodations. It also provides you with the ability to store perishable foods and cook your own meals which can represent considerable savings over eating out.
These reaons among many others make renting a motor-home in New Zealand well worth considering!
